History of Mid-Cities AMBUCS
Mid-Cities AMBUCS was chartered in January of 2003.  In it's first three and a half years of service to the community, the Mid-Cities Chapter has been rated in the top ten percent of AMBUCS chapters in the entire organization.  In our last fiscal year the Mid-Cities Chapter was the second fastest growing chapter in AMBUCS.

Since it's inception the Mid-Cities Chapter has participated in many community service projects.
  •     We have donated money each quarter to the Alliance for Children, a center for abused
children.
  •     Each month we deliver pizzas on the second Saturday to the Safe Haven Women's
Shelter.
  •     We have worked closely with the Mid-Cities office of Early Childhood Intervention,
giving special needs
children AmTryke Therapeutic Tricycles at no charge to the families.
  •     We have stocked fire stations with supplies for the Baby Moses Project.
  •     We have gathered food for families at Thanksgiving and Christmas for needy families.
  •     We have visited nursing homes during the holidays with gift bags.
  •     We have sponsored a shoe drive for the patients in an indigent nursing home.
  •     We have donated over 30 AmTrykes to children in the community.
  •     We have given several thousands of dollars to Ambucs Scholarships programs for
therapy students.
  •     All of this and much more.
FUND RAISING, HELP US HELP OTHERS
We have raised funds by garage sales, pancake breakfasts, raffles, our annual Boot Scootin' Dinner and Auction, and we have received  $5000 grants from the Dallas Mavericks Wives Club.  We hope you can help us in this new endeavor to help those in need in OUR community.

Mid-Cities AMBUCS is a 501 (c) 3 Charitable organization, and not one dollar we raise for charity is spend on salaries.  All work is done by volunteers and only actual overhead cost are ever deducted.  All net proceeds go to our charity account.
